In all that we do, the Power of the Mind Networks endeavors to be a beacon of support, empowerment, and inclusivity. Together, we strive to cultivate a community where every voice is heard through storytelling, every individual is valued, and every journey is met with compassion and understanding. 

Our arts and craft therapy sessions serve as a beacon of solace and creativity for our community members. From the soothing rhythm of knitting needles to the vibrant strokes of paintbrushes, participants find catharsis and joy in the act of creation. Through activities like knitting, bead making, and painting, individuals embark on a journey of self-expression and healing, nurturing their mental well-being in the process.
Every Friday, we gather for our Ladies Chat, a dynamic forum where important issues intersect with insightful conversations. Led by inspiring speakers like Anjona Roy from the Northamptonshire rights and equality council, we delve into topics ranging from equality and empowerment to immigration advice. Anjona Roy’s impassioned discourse on navigating immigration policies and combating workplace discrimination resonated deeply with our community, illuminating pathways to empowerment for black minorities. Following Anjona’s session, 9 people were signposted to her organization, Northamptonshire rights and equality council, seeking support for workplace discrimination and injustice.
In addition to our more structured discussions, we recognize the importance of fostering social inclusion and relaxation. Through casual conversations on lighthearted topics, we create spaces where individuals can unwind, connect, and find solace in one another’s company. These moments of levity serve as a form of therapy in their own right, nurturing bonds and promoting a sense of belonging within our community. Moreover, our Ladies Chat has flourished, with attendance growing from 9 to 24 people each Friday.
Beyond our activities, we remain committed to providing support and resources to those in need. Through our outreach efforts, we have successfully signposted 18 victims of domestic violence to appropriate services, ensuring they receive the care and assistance they deserve, with 8 currently engaged in our restoration programme—a mental health and well-being initiative designed to support women on their journey to healing.
As we celebrate our growth, we are thrilled to announce the launch event of our new location at 32 Spring Lane, Wellingborough NN8 1EY. This event will be a testament to our commitment to storytelling and inspiration, with guests sharing bad lived experiences like trauma and abuse, domestic violence and grief to good lived experiences like career success, overcoming adversity and achieving set milestones to uplift and inspire others


Food parcel distribution

The food parcel distribution project aimed at assisting low-income families and individuals in need has been ongoing since March. It mainly involves providing essential food items to low-income families and individuals, alleviating food insecurity and hunger among vulnerable populations. We also aim to foster a sense of community and solidarity among beneficiaries.

The food parcel distribution takes place weekly, ensuring that families and individuals have access to essential food items regularly. Each parcel is carefully curated to include a variety of nutritious and culturally acceptable items such as grains, pulses, vegetables, fruits, and proteins, catering to the dietary needs of diverse households.

Families and individuals facing financial challenges have been able to access nutritious food regularly, reducing food insecurity and ensuring balanced diets. Beneficiaries have reported improved physical and mental well-being due to consistent access to nutritious meals. The provision of food parcels has eased the financial burden on low-income families, allowing them to allocate resources to other essential needs such as healthcare and education. The distribution sessions have become a platform for networking and building relationships among beneficiaries, fostering a sense of belonging and support within the community.


The project has successfully provided food parcels to 84 families, benefitting a total of 223 individuals.

Feedback from food parcel beneficiaries

Feedback from beneficiaries has been overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing gratitude for the support received. Recipients have mentioned that the food parcels not only meet their nutritional needs but also bring joy and relief during challenging times. The smiles on their faces as they receive the parcels reflect the impact of this initiative on their lives.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our funders, the Community Fund, for their generous support that has made this project possible. Their commitment to addressing food insecurity and supporting vulnerable communities is commendable, and we look forward to continued collaboration and support for future projects aimed at enhancing the well-being of underserved populations.

Workout Wednesdays

To ensure that our service users were taking care of themselves in multiple ways, Power of the Mind Networks implemented a weekly workout session every Wednesday with Nyari – a holistic health coach. Each session had different exercises and activities combating a range of issues, such as stress and gut health.

Every week the turnout increased with women from different backgrounds, learning and improving their physical and mental health in a warm and comfortable space. Most importantly, it became a space for women to socialise, learn new skills and create new relationships. As we continue this initiative at our new location in Wellingborough, we aim to create this space on a bigger more accessible scale.

We appreciate the efforts of Nyari who takes time out of her busy schedule to teach people about holistic health. Additionally, we would like to thank our funders for providing us with the space and facilities to do so, as well as the Community fund and the Government Cost of Living Fund. We look forward to spearheading more initiatives like this.
